Taking strict measures against China, the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps. The Indian government has given a befitting reply to China by banning Chinese apps. The apps which the government has banned were being used extensively in India and with the help of these apps, Chinese companies were making big money.
These five apps were making big money in India
The government has banned these apps under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. Among the Indian government banned apps, TikTok, Shareite, Kwai, UC Browser and Baidu map app were very popular and Chinese companies were earning a lot from these apps from India.
1. TikTok App
TikTok app is one of the most used app in India. This popular Chinese app has about 400 million active users worldwide. Out of which 30 percent users are in India only. 10% of this app’s revenue goes from India. This app is available in about 39 languages. This app was already banned in many countries. At the same time, India has also joined the list of these countries.
2. UC Browser App
UC Browser is a news app and these apps are available in 15 languages. This app is made by UCWeb Alibaba Group. UC Browser was one of the most downloaded mobile apps from 2010 to 2019.
3. Share app
Shareite is also a Chinese app and the Indian government has banned it too. Through shareit, people used to share photos, videos and etc. things from one phone to another easily.
4. Baidu map app
Baidu map is a desk top and mobile web mapping app. Which was created in the year 2005. This app is also used extensively in India. However, now this app has also been banned in India.
5. Kwai App
The Kwai app is a video sharing app called Beijing Kuaishou Technology Co. Is made by This sharing app has also been downloaded a lot in India and through this app the Chinese company used to earn a lot of money from India.
